Hi my name is Derek. I got Powder a Snow Corn and he hasn't ate the big pinkies but then i feed him two small but live ones and ate them right up. Then a week later i feed him a small dead pinkie and ate it right up should i worry that he hasn't sheded yet plz help to night.

Not a thing to worry. He'll shed soon enough. I don't know the time between sheds but they shed when their ready. The only thing you need to do is check up if he shed in one piece and if the eyecaps and tail came off to. And leave them alone in the 'blue phase'. You might not notice the blue phase as i understood from other snake people here it's difficult to see on that a snow. I can't see it on my orange one either but now i simply regonise their narky behaviour and poor skin condition.

they shed about once a month when they are small enough to be consuming pinkies in my experience, so you may not even see him shed for another couple of weeks. Don't worry about it.

Derek,

If you're noticing his eyes starting to form a blue haze he'll shed soon! The eyes will be blue for about 3 days and then he will shed his eye caps. Wait a few days after that and he will shed his skin. You might want to mist him lightly with some water in the meantime, but don't overdo it. I did once, and we had a rather messy shed (good, but messy because there was too much moisture).

Here's an interesting tidbit:

If you can manage to actually catch your snake while it's in the shedding process like I do, turn off TV, stereo and listen closely to the tank...it sounds like Rice Krispies!!! LOL! Honestly!

Bekah, are suggesting that the eye caps come of independent from the main shed? That is interesting because mine (well Mayzee's) come off as part of the one piece shed. But I guess as long as they do come off thats all that matters...

hiya :wavey:

I guess the eye caps loosen from the eyes first then are shed with the rest if the skin a few days later? :shrugs:

thank you

Cindy - Yuppers! Ren's eye caps are not included in his/her shed. They come off a couple days before. When Ren comes out of hiding to shed those eyes are as clear as can be! I have kept his/her shed and there are little holes where the eyes should be every time.
