Hatchling hemipene pictures?

ratsncorns

Bird Nerd
Does anyone have any? I am still working on popping my hatchings... and the sooner I do, the sooner I can post them in the classifieds section. I think I was able to figure out a few of the males, but I am not sure. In Kathy's video, I see obvious hemipenes on the hatchling, but mine are either barely protruding with or without red dots where I think they should be. Some reference photos (if anyone has any) would be awesome!!

Popping female

You can also see a video from female and male popping on my website ( still working on it to complete it but the movies are there ) .

I am probably just doing it wrong. I am not getting anything protruding near as much as those pictures. I get tiny little nubs (if that).

PJ, I already used Kathy's videos but my hatchlings dont have near as much hemipene! I dont get it. I am afraid to keep trying as it stresses them out. I will figure it out in time.

And it sure you are popping a male , a female has only 2 red dots , male shows hemipenes .
Just let your thumb roll , starting 1 thumb from the cloaca and roll , really roll no pressing , your thumb towards the cloaca .

You probably aren't starting far enough back on the tail. That's usually my problem if I'm in a hurry. After you do a couple hundred, you'll be able to tell without having them come all the way out. I have a lighted magnifying glass on my workbench, which really helped in the beginning, LOL....
