Have you seen the new Exo Terra Snake Caves yet?

Yep, I've seen these in Petco/Petsmart recently. I guess they've finally decided to market their own moist hide box. :shrugs: I'd rather just use a free butter container and some moist papertowels, but I guess if you want to spend the money on something that looks nice, then go for it. Actually, there was someone on here who was looking for something just like that. I think it was "ashleynicole" she wanted to make a moist hide that looked natural for her corn Salazar. This would be perfect for her.

I think those are a great idea. You could take out the moss and use them as regular hides, then when shedding time comes around, add the moist moss and voila! Snakes will probably love the seclusion too, as it seems more natural for them to slither into a hole. When I finally get my crowd into a rack system, I think everyone will get one. :)

BTW, those are some nice looking corns on their site, can anyone tell what that last snake is on the first "details" page that they have on sand?? :shrugs:

Looks like a Cal King. A dark banana phase.

Thanks Mike! :-offtopic How is your weather down there today? :sidestep:

j/k Hope you're hunkered down and everything is allright.

the caves look really nice, but that probably means that they pricey. right now i am an unemployed teenager that relies on a weekly allowance of $20 to maintain a snake and a social life, so... it looks like i will be going with my dad's gladware for a while.

20 bucks a week, lucky, when i was your age i had to mow peoples yards for money. And as soon as i turned 16 i had to get a job because my dad said it would build character.

Yeah, my kids think I am a total cheapskate because they only get $5 a week, and only if they do all their chores. I figure my wages haven't gone up 1000% why should my kids allowance.
And I think my snakes are just as happy with their mushroom tubs and tp rolls as they would be with a $25 log, even if they don't look as pretty to company.

Treasure USED to have these caves, they weren't TOO spendy, just don't put one over a UTH... they heat up like CRAZY! The temp inside the hide was 84, the surface temp of the darn cave was 107! I use plastic dog dishes with doors cut in them now hehe. I had the water bowl that matches the caves too, it was okie, but much more spendy.

I use plastic dog bowls that have premade holes :D
So I get 2 in 1 -> extra hide and big bowl. Besides this everyone has moist box with coco fiber.
