hi thanks for replying i was also wondering if the snake digs would the heat pad burn him and how much are heat pads and what store should i look for normal corns and prices
 
You should buy the heat pad beforehand and see how hot it gets. Get a thermometer and check the temp.
If it is too hot, you're going to have to buy a rheostat to control the temperature, or prop the tank up a few inches so that there is a little space in between the tank bottom and the heat pad. Lay the themometer on top of the substrate over the heat pad and the temperature should be in the low eighties.
Heat pads come in all different sizes from all different companies. They can range from $15+
Your best bet to buy your snake and supplies would probably be a reptile show. They have low prices and good selections. Where do you live? Search the internet for shows in your area. I have seen normals for $10 to $20.
Most pet stores usually take terrible care of their animals and have no clue what they are doing. I would not recommend buying a corn snake from a pet shop that is dirty or if many of their animals look sick and neglected.
 
Yeh heat pads come in different sizes as well as brands.. All depends on how big of a tank you got, you want about 1/3 of the tank warmed by the heating pad if your using a smaller cage.. for 1 of my mansions i can only cover a small portion tho with a huge pad. ,lol..

Couple alternatives.. You can buy a human heating pad at a drug store, walmart, places like that an use instead of 1 specifically for reptiles.. They are cheaper sometimes and you can control the strength it is putting out by using the Hi,Mid,Low feature if its too warm for your cage..
