Heat Source

I used some advice I receivied from this forum about using u.t.h. and heat lights. I tryed to use just the u.t.h. but only heats it to 78 degrees with both it heats it to 85 degrees Should I use both or not. My house temp is 70 degrees. Tank 10g. aspen substrate. I noticed alot of different advise not sure what to do?

Was your question not answered in your last thread?

I really doubt that your UTH is only hitting 78 degrees. Have you measured that temperate on the substrate with a digital thermometer or temp gun? If not, I'd suggest doing so. Stick on therms are crap....pure crap.

You can use both if you really need to, but you might not.

Depends on ambient room temps. Plug in the UTH and put a hide on top of the substrate. Check the temps INSIDE the hide. If they're 83ish, and the "outside" is 73-ish, you're good to go. :)
