Please tell me what differences they have and why one should choose one over the other?

Heat tape or UTH and why?

ohhh ok, sweet. Now, I was looking at big apple herps and saw these uth's and to me, they look like they don't adhere to the glass, which means I could reuse the heat mat. The little video says that they highly recommend them and they aren't any more expensive than regular ones or ones I'm finding on ebay. What do you think?

I use the heat pads from the pet store, I just put aluminum foil on so I don't have to stick them on.
Shiny side up or down? Do you duct tape it to the bottom of the tank then? Or just let it rest on the surface underneath?
