Heating Source

I am going to order a hatchling corn snake in the near future, this will be my first snake and I want to make sure that all the right supplies are set up appropriately. Purchased a 10 gallon tank to start off with and was wondering what brand of under tank heating source is better than the other. Read something about remote sensor thermostat's and was wondering if I needed to purchase one of these as well. Where should i keep the water dish for the snake on the heated side, cool side or in the middle?

Not sure about the answer to your question but if you use the search tool on these forums i'm sure you will find something. As regards to the water bowl I keep mine slightly towards the hot side but not right down that end. Might be of help.
