heating

Hey, welcome to cornsnakes, I would use a pad and if the temperatures aren't about 72 on the cool side and about 85 on the warm side then a light may be needed. Try and keep both heat sources on one side of the cage. But lights dry out the air wich could cause bad sheds.
 
If your lamp is the whole cage I would do as Reptile Addict suggested and just have an Under tank heater. I think the lamp would not give you enough cool areas and would dry out the air way too much. You're better off having a cool area for them even if it's a little cooler than optimum and belly heat source for digestion rather than too hot everywhere. That could lead to regurges.
