so, i promised pictures in my introduction to this site & i have a few i'm somewhat pleased with... so here they are. not my best work at all but until he is more use to me & i can use my DSLR, these will do :)

this first one was taken at night & i used the flash which i think washed out some of the details but i tried fixing it best i could. he's about 16-17 inches long right now & i'm not certain on his age but i'd guess no more than a few months (unless anyone can help me determine that)

this second one was taken not more than an hour ago... in the early afternoon he likes to poke out & see what all is going on before sleeping some more ^_^

so far, this is one of my better shots of his lovely colours with natural lighting & no flash so you can see the details better... i'm shooting through the metal screen lid which is way you see some blur.

and finally, i thought i'd add a picture of his tank ^_^ it's a 10 gallon, a small uth with the dimmer control mounted onto to side via velcro, a digital thermo/hydrometer, a digital thermometer with probe set inside the hot hide, & a set of regular thermo/hydro gauges, aspen bedding, some silk leaves, a medium bonsai tree & a business card box for hides, & 6-2inch wide industrial strength velcro straps to secure the lid shut... you can lift the tank up by the lid without it raising a centimeter ^_^

i know, i'll need to get a bigger tank within the next year or so depending on how quickly he grows but i'm actually looking into building one instead.... i was looking at the Vision Cages but i've read a lot more bad things about them than good so i'm iffy on them... mainly because i like using an UTH for my corn over using a heat lamp.

anyway.. i'm rambling now so i'll leave it all at that & look forward to the comments :)
later!

WOW, Helios is incredibly bright! I'm guessing he's a 2010. He looks adorable peeking around in that plant.

It appears he gets a lot of light through that window...does he? I just hope it doesn't get direct light and too warm/hot.

EDIT: Happy Belated Birthday!

@HeavenHell- thank you ^_^ i'm wanting to add some remote controlled red lights on the lid for night viewing but haven't gone to price that addition yet.

@OkeeteeMom- the first pic was because of the flash, i needed to dim down the brightness & add back in a little of his coloring but it's very close. & i wouldn't know.. i got him April 4th, he hasn't shed yet, & because you can't really tell how old they are just by length, i can only guess off others who have recorded the averages of several corns as they grow... based solely on that, he'd be either born somewhere in December give a week or two into the pre- & post-months.
but i do plan on keeping a monthly log of his growth during his monthly habitat cleaning.
no, the window is facing North & most of the time the blinds are reversed (the back ends are facing up) so very little sunlight comes in... i'm nocturnal & work afternoons until the middle of the night so i'm not one to want sunlight pouring into my room.
plus, the photo of the habitat, i did some post work to the image including brightening it up a little.

thank you very much for the birthday wishes too! :)

Aw, I love his look in the first two pictures.

"stay away from my marijuana plant!"

That looks like a 20 gallon? If so, a 20 gallon which is 2' long could do you well into the snakes 18-24 month mark, assuming he grows an average amount in that time.

I LOVE your viv, by the way. I have the same tree for my baby beardie. It's his favorite spot in the tank!

@dan803- LOL i thought it was hilarious they sold those in the pet store so i had to get some

@DanaP- thank you & thank you ^_^

@oneirogenesis- thank you for the compliments ^_^

@Hypancistrus- it's a 10 gallon tank (20.2x10.5x12.5). i'd thought about starting off with a 15 gallon but it was just out of my budget but i'm very happy with what i have. i know between christmas & valentines i'll be upgrading & was looking to either do between a 30-40 gallon because he's usually very active in the evenings & loves to climb & explore. and i was looking at either buying a front sliding/opening terrarium or building one, buying the pieces individually & assembling it myself... something like 3 opaque acrylic sides, 1 ventilated acrylic top, glass bottom (so i can still use an UTH), & either a clear acrylic sliding front door or a glass sliding front door that is sealed & has a metal join for locking when closed.
just my thoughts though... i haven't started pricing it though ^_^

I have those same pot plants in all my baby tanks. Unfortunatly, they start pulling them down when they get bigger but they love them. And most important is your snake if beautiful.

@Peanut Lover- he really is :) i love his colors!

@Hellstrom- thank you for the compliment... i tried to make the habitat covered enough he'd feel secure so he'd roam around it more & look nice enough to show off :)

@cmalchow- LOL i laughed so hard in the store when i saw those i had to get some.. yea, i figured after awhile the cups wouldn't be able to hold him but he's very much enjoying them now :) & thank you
