Hello Everyone! (w/pics)

Het for awesome...
Hello! I'm new to the forum and to snakes as well but was so impressed with the site that I had to become a member. I currently have one snake (see below) that I rescued from my girlfriend's former roommate as he wasn't feeding or watering him/her and was using a cardboard Petco box as a viv. She/He is friendly, a very eager eater and has lately been growing quite rapidly, shedding every 2.5 weeks and is up to 27". She did escape from a new cage this last week and was gone for 6 days but luckily I found her thanks to Kathy Love's excellent advice. I actually don't know much about his history except that he was bought around the first week of Dec '07 and I'm guessing he/she is a Motley Stripe Amel. I do welcome any thoughts or differing opinions on exactly what morph he/she is as I've gotten all my info from websites and books. I don't know the sex yet but am getting "it" probed tomorrow (sorry for the ambiguous he/she business). This is my first snake but I am hooked, especially on corns. I'm planning on buying a few more and possibly breeding in a few years but am waiting on knowing for sure what sex and morph he/she is. Thank you for this amazing site and I hope you enjoy the attached pics.

P.S. These pics don't do justice to the vivid colors of this snake. I'll try to upload better ones later. Also, every time he/she sheds, the bright orange moves farther down the body and is replacing the duller khaki colors. And yes, this beautiful snake will have a name as soon as the sex is determined (tomorrow).

Welcome and congratulations on your new snake! S/he's very pretty, indeed!

Thank you LBoz!

Also, I wanted to add that the container you see in the pics is not the snake's viv, but a box used only for feeding. :)

Welcome to the forum. Too bad your snake started out a little rough, but now it has better care. Nice to start out with a free snake, too.

Very beautiful snake! Congrats on the rescue and hope you learn many new things while here :0)

Good save and good chance that's a motley amelanistic you got there. You found the best place and people to learn from about corns...welcome :dancer:

Welcome!
Gorgeous girl. I love the markings. Amels are so pretty. I have only been a member for 2 weeks myself and have already learnt quite a lot from the forums. Well done on the rescue. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your Welcomes! I'm really enjoying being a member here and reading all the awesome posts.

Thats one of the nicest amels I've seen....Really nice pattern.....
Cool rescue, but don't think every rescue is going to be that nice... ;)
