Hi!
I have been wanting a snake since I was a kid, my sisters and I used to catch them and try to keep them, but our Mom always found them, either after they went through the wringer washer or in the couch in the living room. I have the time now, with my kids getting older, youngest 9 oldest 29, so I can have the snakes I have always wanted.
Planning on 1 more corn from the wonderful woman at poppycorns.com, going to get one of her neon corals, I hope : ) and a king snake, not sure what kind yet. We will be attending the reptile expo in Manchester NH on April 11th. I am dragging all my kids, their spouses, boyfriends and their friends, I should get a commission, lol

Sorry for the looong intro, just really excited about being here and there is so much info that has helped me with my first corn.

Alida :crazy01:

Welcome!! It's great to see more New Englanders on the forum!!

The Manchester show was actually the first reptile expo I ever went to! In fact, I got my ghost corn from PJCReptiles there (PJ and Jay from PJCReptiles are also members on this forum!)

Here is the thread that was started about the show to see which members were going or not: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80045

Anyway, welcome again and have fun at the expo!!

Welcome!! Great to see more New Englanders and especially from Ma. I am from Ma too and will be attending the Manchester, N.H. show. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Again welcome to the best forum for snakes there is. Enjoy!

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome!

I am looking forward to my first reptile show! If you see this crazy lady with this really big 6'4" 300lb man and a bunch of kids, asking a bunch of really dumb questions, that might be me. Not sure how many crazy ladies go to these shows.
I know I'm crazy because yesterday I asked my son to start breeding rats and mice for feeders. He didn't even blink, my 2 youngest daughters on the other hand were calling me an evil Mom. Such is life.

Welcome, Alida! You'll probably find as many as or more women than men at the show. There are lots of us evil moms out there!

Hi there! Glad to see more NE members! I am a crazy lady who will be going to the April 11th show as well :D

I just checked out poppycorns.com and there are some gorgeous snakes there. Can't wait til you post some pics!

Welcome to the forum! It is great to see more North Easterners joining the forum. Even though, you are from Massachusetts. ;) J/K of course! What am I saying, if I look out my front door, I can see MA. That's how close I am . If you haven't noticed;

<~~~~ I am from Cow Hampshire! LOL!

Welcome again,

Welcome Starashes

Hi Alida,

This is a great source for cornsnake info and stories. I am in Brookline and I got into it when I went with my son and adopted a pair from some kids who grew up, got jobs and moved to an upscale "no pet" apartment. We bred them last year and are about to do it again this year. I probably will not get to the April 11 show, but I did get to the Weymouth show last October. It was a lot of fun and we came home with a (unplanned) beauty from Mojo.

Hope to see you soon,
Ben
