today was the first day i held a corn snake!! they seam ok but i say they are like every snake.. i say they are very visious... they seam very dont know do u think i should buy 1??? would the corn snake get fond of me??? truth.
 
I personally don't think that any reptile truly gets fond of any human.

If they're "happy" (proper housing, temperature, humidity, and diet) they will tolerate us owners, but even then too much handling and stress could become a factor.

I really think you should buy this book, and do some serious studying before you get the snake...

Lol, viscious eh? My cats hurt me more when first picking them up and stuffs. Erm, the corn snake just needs to get used to being held and it will stop biting you but if you show that you are afraid and put it down after it bites or musks it will learn to do it more often. NEVER PUT IT DOWN BECAUSE IT BITES OR MUSKS ON YOU!!! They're an animal that requires patience so, please, don't just give up and let the chance to get something good going with your snake. Mine bit and bit and bit but now it doesn't because it knows that biting me won't get it anywhere.
 
Neither of my corns bite, and Corns are popular because they are known as a more docile snake. Vicious, no. I've held a lot of snakes, and have only been bitten twice, once by a wild caught gopher snake. That was my fault though, as I grabbed it rather hard to keep it from getting back into the street and getting run over. As soon as I softened my grip, it was fine. I think snakes on the whole are rather easy to get along with. I've had more trouble with my pet lizards :)
