Ok so I'm currently on day 71 of incubation. All the eggs appear plump and healthy. They are very clumped together so the eggs on the bottom have been hard to look at. Yesterday morning I looked in and all appeared to be normal, no dimpling, no slits, nothing. Last night I looked in again and was about to put the lid back on when a little tail darted under the vermiculite!
So I scooped the little fella/gal out and was thrilled, my first ever baby!! I've moved the vermiculite around a bit so I can now see every egg. It has been about 15 hours since I discovered the first baby and none of the other eggs are even slit or anything.
Is this normal? I know my temperatures varied a little from top eggs to bottom eggs because of the insulating. How long should it be till I get worried that none of the others are pipping?
Included is a little snap of my gorgeous baby. First out is a normal, but I'm hoping for snows/amels/anerys with a bit of luck too.
