Help me! First time mother with question!

Beanie
Ok so I'm currently on day 71 of incubation. All the eggs appear plump and healthy. They are very clumped together so the eggs on the bottom have been hard to look at. Yesterday morning I looked in and all appeared to be normal, no dimpling, no slits, nothing. Last night I looked in again and was about to put the lid back on when a little tail darted under the vermiculite!

So I scooped the little fella/gal out and was thrilled, my first ever baby!! I've moved the vermiculite around a bit so I can now see every egg. It has been about 15 hours since I discovered the first baby and none of the other eggs are even slit or anything.

Is this normal? I know my temperatures varied a little from top eggs to bottom eggs because of the insulating. How long should it be till I get worried that none of the others are pipping?

Included is a little snap of my gorgeous baby. First out is a normal, but I'm hoping for snows/amels/anerys with a bit of luck too.

congrats on the baby Beanie!!!

I am sure the others will start making their appearances soon. I had one hatching everyday for about a week, no sign from the others hatching, but they all did eventually. lol

Woo HOO!! I had one clutch this year like that, The first hatched, and then 3 days laeter the others started. It took a week, but all but one hatched. You should be O.k

Congrats on your first baby! Can't wait to see pics of the others :0) Hope ya get what ya looking for :0)

I remember my 1st hatchling too, pretty exciting! Congrats! Come to think of it, named him "Uno".

Good luck with the rest.

Congrats on the baby! My clutch actually started hatching last Sunday, and didn't finish until Tuesday. And there were only 5 eggs. One unfortunately didn't make it. But congrats on your baby! I'm a first time daddy, too.

Thanks everyone!! Well the good news is that 2 days later my 2nd baby was born, and I now have 6 out altogether!! So looks like this little fella just wanted to be early!

I've one more question too... I have amels and anerys and normals out so far from my breeding (normal X snow) Does this prove that my normal is het for both amel and anery, and I should in theory get snows?

More pics to follow!!

I'm so happy!!
