Would it be a good idea to do this?

Build a reptile cages out of wood?
I mean, like this:

|...............................|..................................|..................................|
|___________________|______________________|_____________________|

Like the lines are wood.(And the bottom)... Should I use a water resistant sealant on the wood?
The top is plexiglass...
Would that be a good idea? I mean because if i needed to clean the cages....
