HELP! Piece of tale fell off!

Okay,
I don't think it's too serious, but please confirm that for me!
PLEASE!

So my corn snake shed for the 3rd time since I've had her a few weeks
ago, I always check to make sure it was a complete shed, and they've always been perfect sheds all in one piece.

Problem is, just this morning I noticed the end of her tale was brownish, (she's a white snake), and so I thought, "oh no! maybe there was a piece left on the end of her tale that I missed!" - but I don't think so.

Anyways, I did the normal skin removal technique. Soaked her in dish of room temp. water on a rough face cloth and sure enough it came off like it always does. Except it wasn't just skin. After examining her over, about 1 millimeter off the end of her tale had fallen off.

I was sure that it was a complete shed and I feel awful!!
There's no blood, it looks okayyy... and she's acting normal,
but is there anything I should be concerned about?

Thanks guys,
Spencer.

Exactly the same thing happened to me here. I bought an adult male. I always check all snakes to see if the tail comes off. I noticed he had a bit of skin left on the tip. Some water on in, carefully roll it off. A tiny bit of tip came off. No blood. A careless previous owner did not remove the old skin and it died off. If there is no blood i wouldn't worry. Call her stumpy.

Haha stumpy.
Yeah thanks! I figured she'd probably be okay, but you never know right?
Never hurts to make sure. I love my snake way to much to risk it. :)

As long as there's no blood, it'll proabably be okay. You might want to dab a little neosporin or iodine on the tip to just make sure no infection sets in.

Besides, it was just the stinger that came off so now you won't have to worry about being stung!!:sidestep:

She'll probably be okay.

This is caused by the tip of the tail being retained after a shed (it doesn't come off) it usually won't make the tail fall off the first time this happens so my guess would be that she has retained the tip for a few sheds now.

My big boy is also missing the tip of his tail. Before I knew any better. Now I make sure that everything comes off when they shed. He hasn't had any problems but I would keep an eye out for infection on your girl just in case. :)

It should be totally fine .. If there is still some brown on there it will just come off after a couple of sheds.
