Help please

I recenlt have been having a problem with my KSB, she started to eat after a short spell of refusing, I was poking the pinky on her neck and she was striking for it. Now it has been over 4 weeks and she wont eat she moves around doind her usual stuff, but she is starting to show skin folds and I just cannot get her to eat. Today I was holding her and offered a pinky, she took its head started chewing then spat it out, it broke my heart. Im starting to feel like im failing her, and that maybe she would be better off with an new mummy.

I have started to put this powder of prebiotic and energy stuff I got from the vets which goes in the water. It says its good for sick reptiles and those that have been hybernating and brumating.

There is nothing like live to stimulate a feed if nothing else is going on and she isn't sick, but be prepared to have a harder time getting her back.

The tastiest thing I've ever had to use to get one to eat was a live pinky after a tuna juice bath. ;)

To this day, I have never seen a hatchling squeeze its food so hard or swallow it so fast.

Good luck.

I would love to try ive but I cannot get live, well I dont know where I could get it. I tried a baby bunny foot to see if the different smell would get her interested as said above Id rather her eat some thing and later get her back to mice than not eat. But she wasnt interested. She has always had gaps in her feeding but not like this. Atm shes all snuggled in her moist box. Oh Blue be a good girl.

Thank you for your replies

ARGGGGG I am on the verge of just giving up, she wasnt even interested in a live pinky!. She went over to it poke it and then slivered off, I left in there over night and nothing then I felt bad for the pinky and gave it to my 2 year old corn.
I'm starting to feel like the first person who comes along with experience of non eaters can have her, I just want her to eat:awcrap:

I'm really sorry you're having so much trouble :( Don't give up on her just yet, there are other things you can try. I know it doesn't seem hopeful if she refused live, but scenting or braining might do the trick if she's hungry enough.

One thing I don't think you mentioned - have you actually left the pinkie alone with her overnight? Next time you attempt a feed, try scenting or braining, and leave the pinkie and snake in their little feeding container - the name of which has just eluded me! - in the dark (covered over) for the entire night.

Let us know how you get on. Good luck.

Oh Laura, I'm so sorry the live pinky didn't work. I'll let you know when there's another litter born so you can try again.

Thank you so much J9, you have been great, it would also be another excuse to drool over your corns lol

I have brained scented, tried a baby bunny foot, yep I leave over night have tried in her tub, and in a small tub she ignores in in her house and just sits on them when in a small tub, shes a mare. The live pink she sat on aswell, I knew I should of bought the boy, I never have any luck with females :(

I decided to give her a few weeks break and start again from the beginning, plain pinky scented pinky etc. However I could get out the other day as my exhaust fell off my car, I had to be towed home (was not happy), so instead I used a baby bunny foot, soaked it in tuna juice, put in a little tub with Blue and buried it in her tub. Went up 3 hours later to have a peak and it was gone. Although I'm pleased I dont want to get my hopes up. Blue also she 2 days ago, her first shed with me, only the head didnt shed, so again back in a little tub with some warm water and left her for a few minutes. God this girls a pain! But her little anaconda inpression was cute. I got the shed off with tweezers, I was so scared so I did it as slow as I could.

ARRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, well at least things are starting to look up.
