Ok, the idea of breeding cornsnakes is new to me, but I can't wait to try!!! I am looking a few different males and females to try breeding next year, and I was wondering what types produce really great colors and patterns when bred together. Can anyone help me with this. The whole genetics/morphs thing confuses me, but I'm slowly learning! Any help that anyone could give me would be much appreciated!!! I can be reached here on the forum or by e-mail at [email protected]
Well it's really hard for us to say what type of morphs you should get. I couldn't tell you what you wanted on your pizza could I? hehehe its all up to your individual tastes.
Once you research breeding and learn lots get equipment by then you will have picked out your favs...you might like all the darker greys and blacks and such like Ghosts, Anerys, Lavs, Charcoal etc. Or you might find you enjoy the oranges and red with Amels, Sunglows, Butters, Caramels, etc. Its your taste that decides but by the time you are *ready* to breed, hopefully some time from now if you do the proper amount of research and I promise you will know exactly what you want!

If you ask us I would rather recommand "The Corn Snake Manuel" by Bill and Kathy Love to you.
This book has most of the morphs out there and TONS of information that you can read about corn snakes before you start breeding.
Just a little note for you, if you do think of breeding, NO BREEDING occurs before they are at least 40 inches long and that is around 2-3 years of age. So if you buy a hatchling in 2002 then you will be producing babies in 2004 at the earilest possible time. Anything sooner than this, will result in a very high chance of death and might cause the snake to decrease it's life expentancy.
Go to www.corn-utopia.com to get the Corn Snake Manuel.
Trust me, it's worth every bit of the money (and it's not expensive too)
