I kinda wanna find this guy, shove him in a tiny sealed box, then take all of his snakes.
I like snakes!

Tiny boxes like little deli cups? He may have recently returned from a show he was vending at, and hadn't taken the animals out yet. Or, maybe he recently got in a large order, as a possible wholesaler.

Lots of people keep hots. Local laws on that vary.
I wouldn't go making trouble for someone without knowing details.

You are blessed with a lovely new pet.
My advice: just focus on that.

The religious folks in Kentucky and West Virginia that handle rattle snakes in their weekly services will be worried now that the word is out that they are illegal.

Not

My guess, and it is just a guess... the room was locked in order to be in compliance with the law, as a means of restricting access to the venemous snakes.

The first time I saw stacks of deli cups, I found it very off putting too. The reality is, the cups are used for vending and shipping, and the animals probably don't spend more than a day or two in there. These are actually a pain to get open and closed - I've never known anyone to use them as housing. The animals are housed in racked tubs, which is fairly cheap, and MUCH easier to deal with.

You know this guy's address, right?... you were at his house. If he was really doing something illegal, I expect he would have met you somewhere else. Also, you found the upper house pleasant...no red flags yet...creepy people usually give off bad vibes from the get go, and also tend to keep icky homes. You trusted this stranger enough to follow him into his house, into the basement, and into a locked room.

Maybe just a case of misunderstanding/culture shock?

None of this is meant to criticize, it is meant to educate and to help so please keep an open mind with what I'm about to say. I and everyone I know here wants to help you have a healthy and happy and long lived snake.

Snakes poop when they need to. He's red because you are "forcing it" out of him. Please don't do that. They only poop once a week or so and you may miss it, so don't assume he hasn't pooped just because you haven't seen it.

Not coming out of his hide during the day is normal. Cruising around at night is normal.

Make sure you are feeding him appropriately and keep his enclosure and water clean. Provide proper warm and cool hides. If you don't know what any of that means please ask and we will help.

And for God's sake, please give your snake a rest! They are easily stressed. Your snake should not be handled for at least 2 full days after eating and while in shed. Your snake should not be handled for 5 to 7 days when you first bring it home, but I guess it's too late for that.

And yes, don't vape around your snake. He only has one functional lung. They are very sensitive to airborne substances.

my guess is - (just by reading the original mindless garbled mess of a post)

a corn snake or two rattled at the dude and he crapped his panties and ran away yelling "Rattlesnake.... Rattlesnake...."

I also wonder if the first several "poops" you saw when you handled your snake was actually musk. Snakes musk when they are scared. Corn snakes rarely musk, but any snake can musk if scared enough. It all comes out of the vent so unless you know for sure it was actually poop, it may have been musk.

I don't know your story, but I understand from your post that you've been through some rough stuff. I've been through some rough stuff myself, so I don't mean to come off as unkind or critical. You've probably had enough of that in your life. I just want to help you give your snake have a happy life.

I had some serious trouble even understanding the post, gosh, but I agree with Dolly's mum. Seems to me you are overstressing the snake, and that can cause more trouble than what you think.
It has to adapt until it begins to have a routine for feedings/poops and first weeks home are quite stressful for them, so they hide A LOT. If you say it seems a hatchling, which does seem by the size in the picture, they are even more prone to hiding. If it truly had endured poor conditions for 2 years, you can't do anything about that now, so just concentrate in giving a proper care to it from now on.
It's normal for them just to cruise at night, and also that they get caught cruising and rush to a cave because they are scared of you. Give it time to relax.
And please, (if I managed to understand well) stop forcing the poop out of it or, in the end, you're gonna cause some serious injury to the poor animal for which you won't be having the money to get a vet visit.

And I didn't take him out of his cage the first week because I read online they need to adjust to thier surroundings so it's been almost three months I've had him he's she'd once and did a beautiful job doing so 😊I'm going to follow what you said I don't take him out if he's eaten for two days should I wait longer than that
