my snakes after they have been fed take it in turns to zoom around the tank as faast as they can chasing each other what the hell is going on!!

Not entirely sure but if you house them together and feed at the same time (hopefully separately) there is the chance that they can smell lingering mouse scent on each other. This can lead to 'cannabilism' as your snakes could mistake each other for food items (noone said snakes were the cleverest species!).

When I kept my snakes together I always fed them on separate days and kept the fed snake in a different enclosure overnight to ensure no mouse scent lingered. In the end it wasn't worth the hassle and I keep all of them separately now.

Its rarely worth the hassle to keep snakes together, that is a good statement.

While some people have no problems housing together, you are inviting problems by doing so.

When housing together your risk for certain issues is quite high, but when housing alone the risks are near zero.

1. Cannabilism. Doesn't happen often but it CAN and has happened before.

2. Early breeding. People are always keeping them together with no thought to the fact they have no clue what sex they are. Early breeding can lead to death for the female. Not everytime, but its a concern for sure.

3. Sickness. If one is sick, and you house togther. ALL will be sick if its a passable disease.

In the end there are many reasons to house seperatly, but NO reasons to house together. This is why most people house snakes alone. :) If you must keep them together (although i dont know why you would) then feed them seperatly.
