)_hi i have had my snake for about 2 weeks now . when i got him his other owner fed him live mice . but i dont want to as it could hurt him . so i tried him with his first f/t mouse the other day. i warmed it like people have told me to do . he seemed intrested at first so i left him for about 1 hour but nothing so whilst he was in his hide i wiggled the mouse (with a stick not my hand:eek: ) he pounce at + grabbed it so i left him again but he just left go of it i .left for a bit but when i got back he still did not eat it so again i wiggled it he ponced again this time he dragged it in his hide so i thought he must have ate it i couldn't see it no where but the snake was in his hide for a bit and i didn't want to put him off. when i went back on the night i looked in his hide as he was out of it and the mouse was there so i took it away should i have left it? or did i do the right thing ?and as anyone else got any ideas what else i could try ? :(

Since your snake is actually striking at the mouse and holding on, try giving the mouse a few light tugs on the tail, see if you can incite a constriction (use chopsticks or hemostats lest your hand get constricted too). If your snake doesn't swallow even after constricting, try a few more while he's constricting and see if he'll start swallowing.

Maybe your snake is showing no interested because there's no struggling.

I've tried this on a couple of my F/T established snakes just to see what would happen and more often than not, it would end up with a constriction.
