Im looking 2 buy a corn snake any1 there that can help?? i have a tank 3ft long, 1ft with, and 1ft and abit high is that big enough to hold a corn snake???? :) And are corn snake friendly???

So you've got a 35 gallon tank or close to it..? Yeah, I've been hearing that 20s are alright, so 35 should hold it just fine. For the most part they're friendly, hatchlings and young snakes may take a while to get used to you holding them. But apparently, I'm one of the few rare people here who has had a corn that previously bit. So, yeah, friendly.

A 3 ft x 1ft x 1 ft cage is a 22 gallon cage if you are talking US gallons, or 18 UK gallons.

This is fine to hold a cornsnake. Yes, cornsnakes are friendly, and very good first snakes to get. However, there are right and wrong ways of keeping them, so make sure you do the research on how to keep them well and safely before you get one. The Corn Snake Manual by Kathy Love is a great book containing all the information you need, and you can always come here to ask questions,

I've had somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen corns, and they've all been extremely docile, except one... I've got this yearling male Ghost that actually seems to enjoy biting me. A couple of weeks ago he bit me 5 times while taking him out to feed. Also, people will say that small corns can't draw blood... completely untrue. While it doesn't really hurt I was bleeding from 3 of the 5 bites mentioned above.

Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying though, that's just one corn out of hundreds I've been around (I have a friend who owns a local exotic pet shop) and barring the occasional fiesty hatchling, or extremely hungry corn, I've never seen one that acts like my Ghost.

Hi there poshey,

Kathy Love has written a good book about corns. I suggest you get it or something like it to inform yourself befor getting a snake. You'll find many answers in these books about tanksize, temp, humidity, food, health etc. etc.
