Herping in SE Ohio

Bird Nerd
I have been spending the summer doing bird research near Athens, Ohio and of course have come across some sweet herps! First week there I chased down a Black Racer, but of course I didn't have my camera. Since then I have seen a huge 6ft Black Rat, an Eastern Milk hatchling, tons of box turtles, and some sort of skink (input please?).

Wish I could have kept at least the eastern milk but I am out of room! :(

awesome pics! I live in what I call Southern Southern Ohio, since if you go any further south, you're no longer in Ohio. I see all kinds of crazy herps all the time, but never any Eastern Milks. That one you caught was a real looker!

That lizard looks almost like an Eastern Fence Lizard to me.

Sweet! Have you checked out Old Man's Cave? I've always found lots of wildlife during my camping adventures down there. I really love that area of Ohio. Nice pics!

Awesome!! I was SO excited when I found a Eastern Milk hatching in Wisconsin this summer.
