HEY! That snake's got legs!

I have always dreamed of keeping a armadillo! !
aha, not a clue why, but I have just always thought that they were the most adorable animals, one of my favorites hands down! ;)

but living in Canada.. poses its issues with finding armadillos.. aha!
a permit would definitely be needed and keeping them inside is just unfair to them, so ill continue to dream..

Just move to Texas. Problem solved. We look at Canadians like we do bad beer....We might not necessarily like them but they aren't useless! !!!:twoguns:

I'm going to go in a little detail about"Tater" my last armidillo. He came traipsing across my backyard about 2 o'clock one morning. He was a full grown male.

I made a cage for him including a buried tote so he could dig a "nest" but not escape. The funny thing about them is that after a little while they adjust and consider that "home".

So you can let them out and anything that scares them sends them running back to their cage. But one day Tater ran UNDER a shed.I knew it was over immediately. We continued to fleed him canned dog food in his cage but he was on pins and needles the whole time.

But he would still come out and eat his favorite snack-(Canadian nightcrawlers) and let my wife pet him while hand feeding him.

Sadly- his new den was prone to flooding and the last time we saw him was before a particularly heavy rain. We think he drowned in his sleep.

My newest addition is a little crested gecko I've named Van der Waals. He's awesome and really easy to care for :) Before I've had bad experiences with feeding animals that only eat live insects, so cresteds are super nice because they mostly eat a powered diet mixed with water and I only add a few crickets in once a week to give him some extra protein.

He satisfies my lizard craving and now I'll just have to try hard not to get any more xD
