What's the full story on the drunk driver + Toyoko Kitchen + demolished wall? :sidestep:

Good call. I figure that's a good story to tell on the forum.

So for anyone who might not know (like Dale) I work in a reptile store. Next door is a Japanese restaraunt. At 2:40 am on Saturday morning, a drunk driver drove through the front of the Japanese restaraunt, and all the way to the back. He then decided to back up went through the wall and into our store. Then, he put it back in drive and drove all the way to the other side of the restaraunt. Figuring that in the state that he was in, he wasn't going to be able to get the car out of the building, he got out, locked the car, set the car alarm and took off out the back of the restaraunt.
Luckily, the wall that he knocked down in our store had no cages (except empty "for sale" cages.) He was about 6 inches away from hitting our incubator, and about 18 inches from hitting the cages with many of our animals.
The Japanese restaraunt, on the other hand, is completely destroyed.
Turns out that the car was not registered to the guy that was driving, but his parents, who came to the scene shortly after it happened.
In the car, there were 11 empty beers, two of which were 22 oz'ers.

So that's my exciting work news :)

Truly, I didn't see it coming.

Helluva story. I take it mom and dad have grounded their child? In an orange jumpsuit, hopefully?

jazz

:roflmao: he was stuck, with nowhere to go :roflmao: and even better, he locked the car up as is the normal procedure when you leave it :roflmao:

classic story trev.

So far, the young man has not been apprehended. I hope his parents do the right thing by pressing charges for G.T.A.

That's because he got his Moo Goo Gi Pan to go. Too bad he didn't read his fortune cookie the day before he placed his order.:sidestep:

Didn't know that there were pics up on the website :)

Or maybe it was just a reaction to the MSG.

WOW! You guys were definately on the lucky side of the wall.
Definately. The cops were VERY apprehensive when they got to the scene because they didn't know if any of the animals had escaped.

Luckily, all we lost were some glass tanks. But Fran (our 6 ft. Salvator Monitor) was a bit freaked out.

I can't imagine Fran being to damn happy.. Give her a rat though and I think her mind might change..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Is the store even open until it is fixed??

That is awful!!!

I shall come in and check it out, and give Fran Jenns hug . :)

Yep, the strore was open that day and on time. A crew came in and put up a temporary fix. Right now, on that wall, there are pics of the accident and the story of what happened. And one of my co-workers wrote "OUCH" on the temporary wall with a big marker.
Tokyo Grill won't be open for at least a month though.

And yeah, come in and hug Fran. She likes her hugs :)

Yeah, Trev, we were in at like noon on Sunday to get "snake munchies"...definitely OUCH! I'm soooooo glad that the poopyhead drunk missed the animals and incubator. :eek1:

Now that I think about, Frannie was pretty darn active when we were there..definitely "Get me outta here!" Poor thing...

sidenote: little Jenson took a pink last Wednesday and Sunday and is currently snuggled up in his little warm side hide! Thatsa mah boy! =D

at least no one was in the building. My dads friend was eating at a wendys when someone crashed through the window. He and some others had to go to the hospital. I don't know what you have in the incubator, but it probably didn't want to get hit by a car. I'm glad nothing was hurt.

Now that hurts! Glad all of the animals are ok though. Maybe you should just let Fran talk it over with the boy. He might prefer the orange jumpsuit though :grin01:
