Hi!! Any breeders in NYC?

Hi! I'm new to the forum.

I live in Brooklyn - Park Slope, and I'm looking into getting my first corn snake. I have a full set-up from a friend and am just waiting until I find one I like. I'm having a hard time finding breeders in the city. Petsmart has some cute little babies in right now, but I really don't want to buy from Petsmart (for all obvious reasons). There's always Fauna - who's reputation is great - but I would prefer going directly to a breeder.

I'm looking for a baby (but would possibly consider an older one). Does anyone know of any breeders in Manhattan/Brooklyn? I know there is an expo coming up in April - maybe I should just wait for that? I've never been to an expo... what should I expect?

Thanks!

Natalie

Do yourself a favor and NEVER buy from Petsmart, Petco, etc. 9 times out of 10 the staff has no info about the snakes other than "its a corn".
The NY reptile expo's are decent. The majority of what you'll see are ball pythons with some corns sprinkled in a few booths. This upcoming show may be better now that hatching season is here. But don't get your hopes up. lol
Rich Hume ([email protected]) is one of the few NY based corn breeders im aware of and he usually has a booth with a nice selection.

Rich Hume does have some good stuff.
You should also consider having one shipped to you from one of the members on this site. Most of them are really good to deal with and you will get to pick the flavor that you are interested in. Shipping a snake to you is safer than it sounds. Just check the BOI before you commit to anyone...
