Hey guys! I'm a girl from sunny San Diego who is looking into owning a corn snake.

My best friend has had reptiles for a few years now (bearded dragons and a few iguanas). On her last trip to the reptile store, she took me along and I completely fell in love with the snakes there. Ever since then I've been doing a lot of research and I'm pretty set on getting a corn snake in the near future. Right now I'm pretty sure I want a Sunglow Stripe, but I think Blizzards are really beautiful too!

I'm a web developer, so I spend a lot of time in my room or at my desk, so I figure that a corn snake would be perfect company for me while I'm designing/coding.

Also I must say that I was really surprised at how big the community here is! Seems really friendly too, I'm excited to learn more about corn snakes and eventually get one of my own. :D

The people here are so so friendly and they know everything you need to know! They have helped me so much.
You came to the right place :)

Hi and welcome. I'm also new here, been great so far.

I do exactly that as a web developer myself my indoor enclosure is on my desk beside me (have a pretty big desk) and his 60cmx60cm tank fits perfectly in one corner.

I stare at him while I'm thinking, LOL Love it there.

Do it you wouldn't regret it.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Phil1ooo - I'm glad someone else had the same idea I had! I have a shelf built-in to my desk that's the perfect spot for a vivarium. :p

I'm new here too, but hi anyway! :) I can tell you that the short amount of time I've been a member so far, everyone here is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and have great advice!

boricua - Hey, that's not too far haha.

I have a question, do you guys have any advice on buying a snake at a pet store vs. online? Going to a pet store would allow me to see it and person, but if I get one online it's more likely I could get a morph I want. Thoughts?

I'd recommend getting in touch with one of the breeders here, or looking on faunaclassifieds instead of the pet store route. Pet stores have limited selection, potentially unhealthy or problematic snakes, and tend to be less educated than a breeder is. There are many here with great selections, great prices, and will ship next day.
