Hibernation

Since winter is approching should I expect my corn to hibernate(and for how long) or will it (whatever the word is) right through the festive season

If there is a significant temperature drop your corn will brumate. This can be done if you would like but is mainly done for breeding purposes. If you do not plan to breed him/her then you will be fine keeping the temperature right where it is. However if you do plan on breeding him then brumation is recommended and should be done after a two week fasting period so that all the contents of your snakes stomach are emptied out and are not simply sitting in there while the temperatures drop. Hope this helps

There will be no difference provided you keep the heat and lights. Brumation occurs when it's very cool and mostly when it's dark. I've successfully brumated corns at temperatures ranging from 57-66 degrees as long as it was very dark. I don't brumate anything that's not being bred. Yours should not be affected at all.

If you keep your Corns in a centrally-heated room, then the ambient temps won't naturally go down enough to send them into brumation.

Most folks have to adjust the heating and/or lighting in the viv in order to bring about brumation.

So no, I doubt yours will just do it of his own accord.
