hides in racks??

for those of you out there who use racks do you have a hide in there as well? I just started using a rack and I was wondering if there is a need for a hide? There is enough aspen in the rubbermaid so that the snake can hide under the aspen and not be seen. Just trying to get some ideas here...

Thanks
Ken

I don't......
since the whole thing already looks like a rack already.....
but if you can providing some will do them good....

hmm

I think if you use enough aspen for them they will be o.k. without hiding spots.

But in my rubbermaids I use actual cardboard shoe boxes. They are low enough to fit, and can be thrown out and replaced easily. And they are large enough for my adults.

With my own experience... I would say that hides are not needed... the size and shape of the rubbermaids are pretty much the same as a huge hide... the rack also gives the snakes a little more feeling of security becuase of the inclosed area that the rack gives them... the rack is pretty much a big hide that seperates the corns from each other...

I use large plastic dog food dishes for water bowls (the kind with a cavity under it). It serves two purposes water dish and hide. All of my snakes stay under the water dish. IMHO

I use hides in my rack!

It's easy and cheap to make your own! I use common things like coffee creamer bottles or any opaque plastic bottles or containers. I then cut them down to size and make an entrance (all using my soldering iron). My snakes ALWAYS use them...even in the rack! Also, the plastic can be disinfected...no need to throw them away!

I have a rack, I also use hides and my snakes are always in them. IMHO it gives them a sense of security.
