We've got a new corn in a 20 gal tank. We have a UTH and a cermic heat lamp on one side and nothing on the other. We have 2 hides 1 half on the UTH and the other on the cool side. The snake seems to stay in the hide on the cool side most of the time. Although he does move around to both. I was wondering if this is an alright set up or would it be better say with a larger hide in the middle? The warm side stays about 8o all the time. The hide on the cool side also is a water dish. So is it alright to have 2 hides with a new corn or is it better just to have one?

Thanks Ya'll

Go with AT LEAST 2 hides (one on the warm and one on the cool) and a LOT of places TO hide (fake plants, paper towel rolls, etc). Don't leave too many wide open spaces as this will stress out your new lil' buddy... esp in a 20 gallon viv. Big. Lots of hides. :)

I'll second that. I use a 50 gal breeder tank for my 7 month old corn! But i have lots of hides. This way he can move from one end to the other without exposing himself much.

"stress ... bad."

Maize, just to clarify, that goes for your snake no matter what the age, not just now while it's young...
