I gave Akasha a humid hide for while she was shedding but she wasn't using it. This morning i found her shed ( which is perfect by the way) and i found her in the humid hide and she has apparently stayed in it all day. Should i take out the humid hide even though she seems to like it? she already has a hide on the warm and the cool side

My pueblan milksnake goes into his humid hide at times other than shedding. Its fine. :)

I've never had to use one yet, but if I was to build a humid hide this is what I would try first.

I would take whatever I normally used for a hide - this could be an upside-down plastic tub, a cardboard box, a hollow log or any of the huge variety of manufactured hides you can buy these days, and I would fill it with moss which I would mist on a regular basis to keep it moist, but not wet.

We use this method very successfully with our tegu.

It's a....

Place for your snake to go and "hide" during the day or whenever it wants. A humid hide is a moist version and helps with shedding.
Cardboard box is what my snake has. Works fine.

maybe your snake does not need its humid hide during shedding, but after shedding your snake might like the feeling of moisure on its new skin. Just a thought.
