High school isn't all that bad...

why not spend your extra time in school doing homework. or what i did and just set up your schedule so you have all your study halls at the end of the day and i skipped them and went to work. i got caught after a month but then told them i was goin to work so they gave me an early release and helped me keep setting up my schedules this way. usually they only do that for seniors, but i was allowed to do it from my sophmore year up.
 
Suggestion... spend your extra time studying for your classes instead of surfing internet boards....

One will be more valuable in life than the other.

Actually on one day I have two study halls and One PC Class, I use the PC class to be here and the study halls to study because the sub doesn't know a thing about pc's.
 
Maybe its just me..but back when I was a senior in High School..
(3 yrs ago...4 now if you are in "school years")
I only had like 2 required classes to graduate..
BUT!..I knew I would miss having all this stuff pre-planed for me..and mostly "free education"...thank you tax payers?!
I loaded my Senior schedual free spots with all high level and AP Science classes..friends thought I was nuts..LOL...
but hey...sometimes I miss those days..
Get off the darn internet and Study!!...:poke:

and if you try to use the reason that you are in "Study hall"..well you could get a jump start on other work. free space for later.

LOL. I did the same thing, Amanda. I LOADED my Senior year with AP classes. I ended up graduating with 8 more credits than I needed (Junior year I had AP classes too).

BUT, I didn't do it for self-edification... I was dating a girl in ALL the classes... She ended up graduating as the Salutatorian of our class (#3 behind a tied #1). Yeah... I was there for her... LOL.
 
High school was the WORST two years of my life. Graduating two years early was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

yeah. you can. they gave me that option, so as i could get out into the work field earlier. but i like working in the quarries shop and still partying with all my friends every night. and didnt mind going to school either. your young, use schooling for the better. either dont waste your time there and find out about getting out early if you can. or do what i did, i took every tech course twice just to use it for my good. making a lot of projects with free materials and cnc machines that they got donated. i made many bike parts for myself to my likings and then didnt like them but made money. lol. my senior year i worked the night shift at the quarry and i was a cart boy at bjs wholesale club for more money. so i went to school late. got out early. i would go to work at bjs for only 3 days a week pushing carts form 12 to 5, go to work at the quarry for 40 hours a week doing 7-3am shift lube job on the big machines. so i would be draining multiple machines down and doing hw during that. and then what not. made enough money to go to trade school. even though im still paying it off. and havent used any of it yet cause noone wants a entry level tech without 3 yrs exp. who woulda guessed. lol.

Jr High and High school were the worst years of my life also. I had a lot of bad things happen to me and friends. I also never fitted in and only had a few very close friends my whole life, I was teased and bullied so much that I would come home crying. It got to the point were I started getting violent and I am not a violent person, I'm very shy. I became very depressed and because of that my grades were horrible I barely passed. I am so happy that I'm out of high school and in college, people are a lot nicer and I actually enjoy it and for once am getting excellent grades.

This is actually what I went through my first 2 years of college! I'm too shy, didn't fit in, didn't make many friends, and dorm living did not suit me...result...a loner with terrible grades. The worst grades I've ever gotten out of any period of school. Luckily UW accepted me and I transfered, I had friends down there...made more friends...life was better, and so were the grades (except physics, haha!)

That is why I'm afraid to transfer to another college. I do not make friends easily because I'm to shy so I'll be all alone. I stayed home and went to community college and this year is my third year and then I have to go to a different college. I'm hoping to get into a college an hour from me and commute. I'm terrified to live in a dorm, well I can't now even if I could because I wouldn't leave my animals lol.
 
Well, let me turn back the clock a little bit (ALRIGHT... a lot... :) ). My first two years in HS (in Hawaii), I was quite the nerd. I didn't have many friends because I was in a military family and we had just moved from where I went to Jr. High (then 7-8th grade was Jr. High). Those years were tough, but being the nerd, I still did fairly well with grades. Got most of my work done at school, went home and hung out with my younger brothers and friends who lived close by. Things weren't great AT school, but were great at home... so no real complaint.

At the end of my sophomore year, I met and fell in love with the girl who would be my HS sweetheart, Angelica. SHE was beautiful, BUT ALSO quite the nerd. Smart, funny, AND she came with the PREPPY crowd which was STILL quite nerdy. LOL. A lot of her friends became my friends and the next two years were a BLAST. While I think I would have come out of HS quite respectable... I think I came out of HS BETTER for having met and dated Angelica - we competed on OH so many levels.

However, AFTER HS and after we became engaged, she went to UC Berkley and I went to UTEP... Long distance relationships NEVER (well, MOSTLY never) work out and that was that. :)

Are you fluent in Spanish? The Spanish language is the most rapidly growing language used in the world, and especially in the US. Knowing how to speak it, being able to put "bilingual" on your resume in the future is a big, huge gold star for you.

Take interesting classes... try to get as much as you can out of the wonderful free education that we (the currently working adult population) are providing for you. Once you leave HS, you will have to pay for every opportunity you missed during HS. If I could go back, I would do a lot different.

I also know I am speaking to a brick wall at the moment. At 15 you know everything and your parents and other adults are idiots who know nothing. Ten years later, you're 25 and shocked at how much they've learned in ten years. ;)

Spanish? PFFT. NO! NEVER!!! Spanish isn't a demanded language in the US for top dollar jobs because they are so many people that already know spanish, I'm taking German... If you want a top paying job you should get a language that is in high demand.
 
Retarted Spanish of which I don't speak but wish I did will be the most spoken language by 2025. It is the most demanded language in the US if not the world epecially because of globalization. German is great too being bilingual period is an asset, but believe me do you speak Spanish will be the number 1 question asked to you at interview- why not learn both!!
 
Spanish is, and most likely will always be, more in demand in the world than German. Simply put, more people in the world speak Spanish than German...and more people in the US speak Spanish than German. Most companies in the US look for Spanish speakers...because that is what is most needed with the high influx of people in the US who speak only Spanish. (not that I'm against German, I'd love to speak German)

However...if you want to learn a language that will really get you far in the business world of the future...Chinese.
 
............yeah..I never said that High School was fun..but you should take advantage of it while its there...
My high School days were so full of stress..from home issues down to dealing with the death of many friends..over and over..

It sure made my frist three years in college really easy..as far as my classes go. To do what I did..I didn't want to take all the classes for self destruction..haha..pure enjoyment..I loved AP Anatomy and Physiology..and I was HOT for teacher..LOL..who is only a few years older than my BF now..haha..(I don't rob the grave..just so you know..LOL)
ANYWAY!....
As long as I have loads of Science work I am set. All I can say is when you get into college there are a few things you may find you wish you had done way back when you could..I can't tell you how many people were in my College classes that really were clueless to the world.
don't get by with the "skin of your teeth"..make it worth your time..because in reality...in high school..the average kid..doesn't have anything better to do.
Like I told my little sister..your social life can wait.

I think I remember reading that Mandarin Chinese is the 2nd fastest growing language in the world, and that people who are trilingual (Spanish-Mandarin-English) can basically walk into any company and be given an immediate opportunity, simply based on their language skills.

My biggest regret from HS is not coming away bilingual... 4 years of Spanish speaking opportunity, wasted because I knew I'd "never need it." Idiot.

Yes... I am speaking of my own self. ;)

(Incidentally not much hath changed....)
 
I took 4 years of spanish in high school...but didn't follow it into college...mostly because I could never fit it in my schedule. I can speak a little bit of spanish...though I can read it better than I can speak it. I'm still not very fluent though, especially since it's been 7 years since high school
