Hognose in Colorado?

I've decided to treat myself to a little hognose. A quick search for breeders brought up a lot of reference to the leucistic hognose drama that occurred here in Colorado, but no breeders. I have seen them offered at our reptile expo before so am assuming they are legal here, but does anyone know for sure? Maybe the ones I saw here were eastern hognose and it's only the western that are restricted? Help??
 
The Colorado Herpetological Society website has a care sheet for Westerns and doesn't mention anything about any restrictions on keeping them.
It's pretty unlikely that you saw Easterns at an expo. Easterns aren't very popular in the trade because of their eating habits. If you want to find out for sure you can contact Colorado Division of Wildlife. They could let you know for sure.

Good advise, I am looking into a rat colony. I heard that rats were illegal to keep up here so I called fish and game to find out that I can only keep White "albino" rats.

If all else fails call Fish and Game, I'm sure they don't know they will find out for you.

What a pretty little face she has! I love when they lay their ears back and give that sweet little hold me look. We rescued Paco from my mom's dogs who mistook him for a squirrel and bit him up a little bit. Never could find his owners so he just stayed. I have no idea how old he is, but he sure hasn't gotten a lot of white on his face.

The snake pics in that thread were awesome. I'm not afraid of snakes, but wouldn't want to be that close to a rattle snake.
