Ren's in a 20 gallon "aquarium", but will soon be moving into "the mansion" (50 gal.)

By the way..."Anubis" - LOVE the name (I happen to have an interest in Egyptology)!
 
That would be a good Egyptian name to go along with Anubis. So would Seth, but that seems masculine, unless you know the sex of your snake. Not that it matters. I named my snake Renoir (after the painter) we call it Ren and I have no idea what our snake's sex is!

There are quite a variety of names, depending on what you're trying to associate your snake with: Sekhmet (translates to powerful one - was a lioness goddess), Apophis (a snake-headed god - associated with the underworld), Hauhet (a snake-headed goddess - associated with floods), Horus (a god associated with the sky and kingship) Baal (a god associated with storms), Duamutef (a jackal-headed god, like anubis, used in Canopic jars to store the stomach and upper intestines), etc., etc.,...the list just goes on. Although, I think "Anubis and Osiris" has a nice ring to it!

Let me know what you decide on naming this new snake!

well anubis is the god of mumicacation* and osiris is the god fo the underworld i do like that name and am going to use it but i was thinking of Isis Osiris' wife(right?) but i cant pronounce* it but thanks for the input

Isis was the mother of Horus and a "consort" to Osiris. Osiris is the falcon-headed god, and you're correct - he was associated with mummification. He was a god of the dead AND the afterlife. Anubis is one of my favorites - he was the god of embalming and cemeteries, but he actually came BEFORE Osiris. Anubis was one of the ancient gods in Egypt until Osiris rose to popularity. But in Egyptian mythology Anubis still continued to assist in the judgement and deliverance of the dead to the throne of Osiris. Phew...sorry, I'm not trying to give a history lesson or anything! LOL! They just had so many gods and alot of them overlapped or were replaced, etc., etc.

LOL...still, let me know what you decide to name the snake!

Oops...forgot to mention...Isis was also Osiris' sister...and their son was Horus. Little freaky, huh? LOL
