I'm moving to a new town/house in a few days and thinking to build a snakeroom at the basement.It's pretty big (3 x 6 x 3) for all my 13 corns and the future plans..
My concern though is that the room's only air supply is from the door.The door has some thin openings on it.(Which I'm going to secure..)
Do you think that is not good enough?
I have seen some other snakerooms around but never noticed the ventilation in them.
Please feel free to share any thoughts or photos.:)
 
Meters I guess? There shouldn't be any problems as long as you heat your snakes properly.

Why do you want to close off the thin openings on the door? Are we talking about a vent or cracks/gaps in the door? You for sure need to let fresh air in and out of the room.
 
Our basement snakeroom has a window, although we've only occasionally opened it when it gets over 85* when we're working in the room. The door to the rest of the basement is an insulated exterior door with a lock so we can restrict access if we ever have guests or family over. It's probably overkill, but ...

For the most part, the room is only "ventilated" when we enter and exit the room. Other than some issues with exterior-wall condensation because we keep the room at 80* and sometimes the walls sweat in winter, I haven't felt any serious need to worry about ventilating the room.
 
If this is a house you are buying why not just go to the store and buy one of those screen vent inserts they would allow you to ventialate the room (possibly installing it on the door) without allowing snakes to get out (I am assuming snake security in the event of an escape is why you want to seal off the door.)
 
Actually I'm renting an appartment at the 4th floor.The space at the basement goes with it.
The thin openings are on the door and I'll use a screen to secure the snakes from getting out (if that happens,which I doubt).
The size of the room is given in meters alright.
I have all the other set up ok (heating,cages...).
I was wondering if ventilating the room only when I'll open it every day and through the openings would be enough.

I am pretty sure that ventilation just through the cracks in the doors should be fine the other thing you might want to do is set up a thermometer in the room to verfiy its not getting ridiculously cold or hot there.
