This is Layla - I've had her for 3+ years, and she is about 48 inches long. What is she?

Whatcha Think?

What's the belly look like?

Kinda sort of looks like a Sunkissed (Hypo Okeetee) from here.

Checkered (sp?), and redder towards the end of her tail - Here's the closest thing I have to a pic of her underside:

I think too much black for a sunkissed...
Hard to tell from that shot. The ventral checking does seem to have that bronzed effect that many hypos display.

Some of the Sunkissed have quite a bit of black on them in fact. Hypo lessening the melanin and Okee's have thick black borders. Could be, too hard to tell from here, but I don't think I would rule it out.

I suppose with the right backgrouond genetics (okee-type) and the sunkissed it could look quite a bit like that...

Hard to tell without proving it out versus a known sunkissed...

It seemed to me that she had little or no black as a hatchling, developed black borders as she got older, and then it seemed like the black borders started to fade/break up/thin out as she continued to age... Weird. I don't even know if that's possible, but that's what it seemed like to me...

That's pretty typical in alot of Okee's. Some are hatched with a lot of visable black. Some seem to tend to gain nice thick borders over time.

I think there is a hypo gene in this snake....there's not much black on it, and he shows a bit of bronzing on the checkering too

the belly though, doesn't seem to be fully checkered....couldn't it be an outcrossed bloodred?? Just guessing...?
