Glad to know red wigglers seem to be OK for turtles. :)

On the UVB, I've heard of both ReptiGlo and compact UVB, both "in general," being bad. No definitive resources that spell it out in a scientific manner with comprehensive proof one way or the other; just reading about others' experiences on other forums.

It has me wondering if compact/coil bulbs aren't so bad as I'd been led to believe.. Not that you'll see me using them any time soon, but that has as much to do with the horror stories as it does any fluorescent-type UVB bulbs' tendency to not put out enough UVB for the lizard and tortoise species that interest me.
