how do u sex a corn???????

You can get a fair idea from the shape of the tail. If you post a couple of pics of the tail taken from underneath, preferably with the vent highlighted, people here will give you their opinion. It's not as reliable as having it probed, though.

Another way is to bright light them. This is pretty easy to do on the amels, snows, and other light colored morphs. That's what I did on my amel.

I would think so. It just depends on whether or not you can see thru the snake near the vent. We used a bright flashlight on my amel.

Bright Lighting....

Please could you explain how you tell the sex with a "Bright Light" I have not heard of that before.... Thanks

Cindy,

The method of the 'bright light' is usually called 'candling'

This is basically how it works. Use a bright light to 'shine through' the hatchling's vent. For males, you can properly see the hemipenes of the male. This is a bright red organ (with all those blood vessles..)

I have only heard of doing this way with hatchlings only. i have never heard of anyone doing it on adults.

Poping would be more accurate for hatchlings. This is what I do....and never have tried 'bright light'

Probing is the most affective method of sexing a snake.

But both poping and probing shouldn't be done unless someone experience shows you how. If you do it on your own, you COULD injure the snake and affect its breeding organs.

Bringing your snake to an expereinced breeder or vet would be the best way to sex your snake plus learn how to pop or probe a snake.

You can use a good quality flashlight. Something with a bright halogen bulb that adjusts to a narrow beam. It doesn't get as hot, but is very bright.
