How do you tell if eggs are ready to hatch???

Mine are about an inch long, and, more importantly, flecked with brown blotches. They are soft to the touch. Are they ready to hatch?

well,

how old are the eggs? corn snake eggs usually hatch between 60-70days or so ive been told.this is my first season with eggs too:) the shells get thin and start to dimple,or "cave in" a little.then within like 2 or 3 days they start to pip.get the cornsnake manual, it will tell you almost everything you need to know about keeping and breeding cornsnakes:)
