this just crossed my mind but i noticed that somtimes when i lift his hide his head is under his belly and dosent react to the sudden light change.
but when he just hangin out he dosnt have his head under himself
any 1 els ever notice this.
 
when you see...

rapid eye movement, drool rolling down it's chin, and you hear snoring...your snake is surely asleep ;)
 
Well, it's kind of hard to tell if they're sleeping or not, but if you wave your hand in front of them and they don't react, they're probably asleep. Also, their eyes look different. I can't quite remember what it is, but I think it's that their eyes dilate a bit when asleep.

Also, if they are awake and you touch them they usually take it in stride because they knew you were going to, but if they are asleep they usually get really spooked. I accidently woke up one of mine once and he thrashed a bit and hissed. I think the incident almost scared me as much as I scared him. This was back before I had ever been bit by a snake and I thought for sure he was going to nail me. :rolleyes:
