How fast does your snake take to eat?

umm, my snake used to eat a rat pink in about 30-50 seconds, now he's on (fuzzy mice) and it takes him about 1-2 minds depending on if he wants to play (kiss the food)
 
We have some that eat promptly and quickly while at the same time we have others that take their sweet old time. Depends on a snake-by-snake basis.

Maize eats pinkies very very quickly...about a minute per pinkie..Striker can sometimes take his time and other times eat very quickly...this past feeding he constricted the dead mouse for nearly 3 minutes....it was already dead...I guess he wanted to make sure...lol
 
It depends what mood Gaia is in. Sometimes she'll play "Nosey" (pokes them with her nose a couple of times before grabing); sometimes she play "Wagon Train" (circles around each one several time before grabing) and sometimes she'll play "Stares" (she looks at them for several minutes as if she never seen pinkies before). But generally she's done with her 3 pinkies in 5-10 minutes.

Kiara has to be entered in some sort of speed eating contest! She eats a pink in around 30-40 seconds. You put it in and she woofs it down, next one is the same, eats as soon as you put it in... I started cutting the f/t pinks and now she eats them even a little faster. :eek1: She loves her food a lot more than I thought!
 
Personally, if I was that snake's owner, I would've bumped him/her up to two pinkies per feeding by that time.

My snakes all do it their own way. Katerina (king) will strike and constrict non-moving and dead prey RIGHT as soon as she sees it. In fact, she'll sometimes constrict before I have a chance to put her down. After that, she'll spend 20 minutes rolling around and constricting before she actually eats it. I maintain that she enjoys the thrill of the chase. ;)

Zeke (corn) usually doesn't constrict, but slithers up to the pinkie and gets right down to business. Patches (BP) is the most difficult, because sometimes she won't realize it's there until I pick her up and put her nose near it. With her, I *have* to use the tweezers, because she's definitely missed before, and she definitely has the strongest jaw of my three snakes.

She's 20g and eating 2 pinks every 4-5 days that fast :sidestep: I dont know if I should feed her more than the 6g of food that the munson plan says...She's still very skinny...
