How is selling going for you?

Hi everyone,

So breeding season is upon us and the eggs are hatching, and we are getting the babies to eat, etc. So how are sales going for you? How are you getting the word out?

I advertise my animals on here, fauna and the other popular snake classifieds forum. I didn't breed very many of mine this season, only ended up with about 60 eggs, but still went into this season worried that I was going to have 60 babies on my hands that couldnt get rid of , but already just within a week of market my new borns, I have sold 8 of them, so I think I am feeling more positive about it now!

So how is it going for you guys, and how can we help and support one another during this time to help each other out?

Dawn

If all goes well, all my 11 eggs hatch, the hatchlings thrive, I've got a local shop that'll take them all off my hands. The guy is so keen that I'm getting discounted prices on my frozen mice!

Thats great! My local pet store wants to buy some of my cal kings, but I am not real sure yet that they truly are taking good enough care of their animals so I am not sure if I will sell them any. They are doing TONS better than they use to and all looks good and healthy now when I go in, but I need to see them keep it up for a while to feel good about it.

I was thinking of letting them buy one to try out and then checking on it each week as I go in to buy my crickets ...They too are great about taking care of me in return for my assistance and advice on their reptile care and give me good discounts.

Erm, I forgot to add, that's if I can bear to let any of my babies go........I'll have to keep at least one, and offer my mate Dave next choice........there go the profits! Actually, knowing how I was when I bred gerbils and guineapigs, choosing which to sell and where is a suitable buyer is the hardest part for me

While I am not currently selling any snakes, it's kinda related to something I've been thinking about. I'm still in college so this might take a while, but I am toying with the idea of having an exotic pet store, preferably in or around a city. I know that if I sell more high-end morphs, people are not going to walk in off the street and buy them. In you guys' opinion, would it work if I have this shop, as well as sell snake online and stuff? Cause everyone keeps reminding me that 1 out of 10 businesses go under in a year... :bang:
