How long did it take for your snake to "trust" you?

Had my snake for about a week and a half.. Started handling on sunday. Very jumpy and shy and somewhat aggresive (though she calms down about 5 mins after handling). How long does it take for a corn snake to usually trust you? I know it varies from snake to snake but what is the average time?

I have a new Corn as well. I started handling her a few days ago and she's taking to it well, but her temperament is very calm/fearful with no aggression. I think the ambient room temperature makes her more friendly with my hands. Keep at it with daily short handling sessions and I'm sure that she'll warm up to you soon enough.

I'm not sure, that wasn't really something I keep track of..
My babies are still skiddish, but that's because there's so many of them I can't play with them all the time! My boy that I got when he was 10 days old was skiddish for a while, but now he will hang out right at the front of the cage and let me just reach in and pick him up without even moving a muscle.

Long story short- it depends on each snake and how much you handle it.

My first snake ever would actually come out to see me if I opened the cage. He was the best.

I think they each have their own personalities. We acquired 2 more this weekend and one is so pleasant and comes out to greet me when I slide her bin out but the other, well let's just say I've been hissed, pooped, and musked on one to many times... :puke02:

XD Saga picked up on the fact that I wasn't going to eat her pretty quickly. She knows that if she goes up on her climbing branch and hangs out for a couple hours, it means she'll get to come out for a while, and that if she burrows, I'll leave her alone (usually). I think she thinks she has me trained. lol She stopped rattling her tail at me after a few days of handling, and she only took a snap at me once. :)

UPDATE:

She has calmed down alot over the past few days. When I pick her up she doesn't even struggle anymore. She just glides across my arm and wraps herself around my wrist. She doesn't even want to go back in her cage anymore lol :)

I started handling my corn snake about 5 days after I got her. At first just for a few minutes but then after about 2 weeks I started holding her for longer periods of time. She bit my finger once but I think it's because I accidentally poked her right in the face. Lol she is probably 4 months old so it just felt like a tickle. And only happens on the first extended handeling. I put her on my lap now and let her just kinda wander on the couch. I think she was jumpy at first because I was kinda jumpy too. I think she totally trust me now and I trust her. I think the more confident you are the more confident your snake will be with you.

I also wash my hands with soap before I handle my corn snake. And anyone else that's wants to hold her I make them wash their hands with the same soap. It's not neccissary but I think that it just makes a certain scent that they can get used to and will be more comfortable with a new person picking them up if it's a familiar scent. I don't know if I'm right or wrong but I think it makes sense. Lol

Not quite sure. I made a rule of holding her every day except the day after feeding. It isn't like one day they just trust you. They trust more and more, in different ways. Also, it depends on the snake. For example, when I had Xia, after a month, she didn't jump when I got her out of the cage. After about three months she wasn't jumpy when I stroked her with my finger, and didn't even turn a head, and a week or so later, I could touch her head and tail without any response. By the six month mark, I could pick her up any way I wanted and she wouldn't even flinch. I've had her about a year, and to this day, I notice different ways she becomes more and more tame.

By now, she is the calmest, sweetest snake I could hope for! People say corn snakes are very calm, but it takes a lot of handling and work, but I can even trust her with small children.
