How long is too long for laying?

My 1st time female is 15 days past her shed and still hasn't laid any eggs. She was still restless last weekend, so I gave her a 2nd lay box which she started settling into. Today she was in one box most of the day and then switched. Still no eggs. She definately has them because I can feel them when I let her travel over my fingers. I also don't see any huge or unusual lumps on her.

I've never had a female take this long and am getting concerned. Any suggestions? Do you think she will still lay them without problems or do I need to see a vet?

Let her be. My girl took 17 days this year and laid after only 8 last year. I have seen others post where it took even longer and everything was fine.

Good luck,
Joanna

You're right. She just needed more time. The new lay box also seems to have done the trick. It's day 16 and she's in the new box laying eggs. I don't want to mess with her too much, but I got a glimpse of 4 or 5 very nice looking eggs buried under the moss.

I took a very quick picture. Mom is a normal motley. Dad is a normal motley/striped. Both are het for anery and amel.
