How long to thaw pinkies

I am planning on getting a sno corn in the next few days. I have read some books and have read what seems like a hundred care sheets. I have not been able to find thawing instructions for frozen pinkies.

Do I just take one out of the freezer and let it thaw out. If so for how long?

Thanks a bunch!

I put the mice in plastic bags and put them in hot water. For pinkies it only takes about 5 min for them to thaw and get warm. You can roll it between your fingers and feel if it's warm all the way through.

I agree with Alicia, but I would use warm water. I once defrosted some hoppers in hotish water and their stomachs popped. It was not pretty.

i let mine sit for an hour at room temp. Of course I put them out so I can see them that way I don't forget they are laying there...

I also use the hot/warm water method but I just toss the pinkies into the water. It only takes 5 mins but I usually let the pinkie(s) sit for 10 just to be safe. :)

Good luck getting your snow corn and everything

If you have a stubborn eater throwing the pinky in water may wash off the scent and the snake may not eat it.This is why most of the time people leave them in a plastic baggie.Just a thought.

Oh I didn't know that! All my snakes ate pinkies thawed like that with no problems so I assumed it was ok. Well, in case I ever get another problem feeder, I guess I'll have to keep this in mind. Thanks abell.
