How often do snakes shed?

He will probably stay cloudy like that for another day or two, then it will clear up and he will shed within a week. My snakes usually shed about 2 days after their eyes clear up.

It really depends, but generally baby snakes shed about once a month, and they shed less and less as they get older. Adult snakes generally shed about 4-6 times a year, but other things can speed up this process, like injuries to scales, significant weight gain, etc.

I've only one snake, so little experience, but mine has been four days after the blue clears before he actually sheds. I was going nuts!!! :D

The frequency is pretty random here .... maybe I just have a weird snake ... :shrugs:

I think it's a pretty individual thing.. lots of outside factors influence when a snake sheds, especially a baby. They could be going through "growth spurts" and shed every 2 or 3 weeks for a while, and then slow down again and shed once every 6 weeks. As long as your snake is eating, active, and shedding at some time, then they are normal and happy :)
