how often do you feed?

Just wondering, how often do you all feed your full-grown adults? I always see a lot of info one how often to feed babies when they're growing up, but I always wonder if I'm feeding my adult at the right intervals.

I feed my big male, who is about 670g, once every 10 to 14 days. It depends on whether he has an adult mouse or a rat pup. When I give him a rat pup, he gets 14 days. And when he gets an adult mouse, he gets 10 days. So, on average, every 10 to 14 days. If you feed them any more than that, they can get overweight and develop health problems, just like people. :)

I feed males between 200-400g an adult mouse every 12-14 days. Males over 400g get a jumbo mouse every 14 days.

Females between 200-400g get an adult mouse every 9-12 days. Females over 400g get a jumbo every 12-14 days. Schedules and prey-size have to be considered more carefully where females recovering from egg-laying are concerned.

Thanks, I've been doing it about right then. Right now I have rat pups, so he eats every two weeks. He's a big boy, 5ft. almost exactly.....haven't weighed him though.

In fact, he's big enough, that when I was wanting to get rid of a female rat I didn't want anymore (adult), I gave it to him, and he actually took it fine. I wouldn't try a male rat though and it's only a one-time thing.

My 400+ gram adults and smaller every 7-10 days. My 700+ gram adult every 14+ days. He's eating small rats though...they go farther....

My 1.0 creamsicle eats three mice every two weeks. He is five and a half feet long, and as of ten minutes ago, he weighs 800 grams. Since he ate two mice this afternoon (he was going into shed and only ate one last week), his weight is a little high.

Dean, she was asking about your adults, not your hatchlings. :sidestep:

(We all have our crosses to bear. I get the old fart jokes, you get the monster snake jokes. ;) )

I'm going to be the oddball here.

I feed my adults ( weighing over 350gr) once every 3-4 weeks. They eat small rats at each feed.
Adults weighing under 350, get fed once every 2 wks.
