How often to feed?

I've been researching on how often to feed my 6 month old corn snake and I've read everything from every 5 days, 7 days and 10 days (this one I know it mentioned adults, what is the definition of adult in snake years? one year?).
I would like to get your opinions on how often I should feed her?

Thankyou!

what's the weight of the snake?
most feeding plans go by weight..

but at 6 months I was feeding every 5 days, and my baby was fine, he's now on one fuzzie every 6 days, and growing lime a weed.

but if you could get the weight of the snake that would help a lot! :)

We'd normally consider a Corn Snake adult at around 3 years old. They might not yet be their full adult size by then, or they might have hit it earlier.

How often you feed, depends on how big the food is that they're eating. As a rough guide, the food needs to be around 1.5 times the girth of the snake's body and leave a visible lump in its belly for 24-48 hours eating. This applies until you reach adult mice, at which point the visible lump is no longer relevant.

There are no hard and fast rules as different routines work for different snakes, but I go roughly by:
* Pinkies - 1 every 5 days
* Fuzzies - 1 every 5-7 days
* Small mice - 1 a week
* Medium mice - 1 every 10 days
* Large mice - 1 every 14-21 days

Thankyou everyone!!
Very useful information. I dont have the weight of my snake but I sure can weigh her. She's currently eating pinkies and it blows my mind because shes so small! haha

yes for sure get a weigh in on her, that will help you out a lot for when you think it's time for them to move up a size in prey. :) (makes it a lot easier)

But as Bitsy said too; the 1 and half prey size works well too, for someone that can't get their hands on a scale to weigh their snakes. I just prefer to know what my snake weighs that way I can see what he gains after each feeding, Just personal preference though. :eek:

and it will also help you out when it comes to weighing your feeders! Which will help YOU out a lot when you start transitioning from pinkies to fuzzies and so on.. It always nice to start out with the smallest feeder you can find of the next size up, so the jump isn't to hard on your snake.

I hope this helps! :)
