My corn snake got her name of Kano from my three year old when she went into her hide, it looked like a volcano and he said Kano and bam she had a name. Stitches got her name also from kids, she looks like she has stitches on her mouth.

Mojo came with hers, Apophis was named by my husband after I told him he could name our second snake and he came up with all sorts of ridiculous long and hard to pronounce other options and our soon to be new additions a pair of fire babies from Heather are going to be Una and Seven because they were referred to as AM01 and AM07 in thier original progression thread :)

Oh these are always fun!

When I had my snow corn her name was Snow, which was short for Snow White. I had been watching a lot of Once Upon a Time when I got her. I also had an amel named Henry at the time, from the same show.

Now I only have 2 snakes. First is Bison, he's named from my favorite character from Street Fighter. Then I have Cy, which is short for Cyclops since he only has one eye.

My leopard gecko is Sprocket. It took a while to come up with a name for her but then I saw something that reminded me of Fraggle Rock and she became Sprocket. I kind of want to get another one and call her Doozer.

Lastly I have a rainbow boa hopefully coming next week. Inspired by Tavia's rainbow boa's names (all from Firefly) I'm leaning towards naming her Serenity.

Well, with over 30 animals I could be here listing their stories for a while, lol, but here is a few I think are kinda unique.

Roezl is my orchid corn and named after a famous orchid hunter.
Dorito is my amel sunkissed because he is the same color as the chips (this pic makes him look lighter than he is)
Derby for his racing stripes (possible tessera stripe)
Puzzle is my cinder corn
Jigsaw is my chaos Tessera

Cy is a cool name, although bad why he has that name

Wadjet is named after the Egyptian cobra goddess.

Pinkie Py(thon) came with the name Pinkie because his belly scales had a pink wash when his first owner got him (which then were white after he shed, but he was already named). My daughter decided, on the drive home, that he was Pinkie Py(thon), like Pinkie Pie, the My Little Pony. Since she'd already come up with the concept of her My little python project (with the goal of introducing little girls, especially, to snakes the way they get introduced to My Little Pony or Littlest Pet Shop as cute, cartoony, personified characters), Pinkie Py(thon) immediately became the spokes-snake although it took her about 6 months to actually launch the project.

Our remaining frog is Rana-"Frog" in Latin.

Current cats are:

D.C. (Demon cat)-named because he was a scared stray in the shelter who would hiss at everyone who came near

Shy (because she was-she was the last kitten in a litter we fostered, who would hide whenever anyone came to look at them. She's now getting quite elderly, and may have cancer-we're waiting for a pathologists report on a tumor removed yesterday)

And the two new ones, which Alli named:
Anery-because she's Anerythristic-a grey ball of fluff with some slightly darker striping, with dark gold eyes.

Mamba-who is long, slender, fast, and black.

Can you tell she'd rather have more snakes?

My corns are named after Japanese Oni/Yokai/demons...Kiyohime, Orochi, Kuraokami:

Kiyohime

Yamata_no_Orochi

Kuraokami

My rubber boa is "Mimizu" which is Japanese for earthworm, my hognose is "Hogwort" or a variation therein...I'm also partial to calling him "Sir Sassy McHissypants, and my ballpython is Nile...since they are native to Africa :)
