Well I figured I would drop in a say hi before I went off on a tangent and started asking all kinds of different questions. I have been reading the vast amount of information on here for 2 days now and my son has been by my side for all of it. I am not new to herps and have owned several snakes in my day but my son now has a real interest and it gives me just one more excuse to get back into snakes!!! He is really excited about the thought of having a corn snake and we are working on building a killer stackable type viv so that we can expand in the future with more corns!!!

Now for my first question..... my wife ask me lst night while looking through pictures of some of the different color morphs. Does a snake have a neck and if so where does it start and stop on the body????

Other than loving snakes and reptiles in general I also love to fish andd fly fish more specifically, as well as hunt with my wife and both of our young boys. I also love to spend time in my wood shop building things as well as the garage doing some metal work as well.

Glad to meet you all and really appreciate the effort and passion you all have put into the fine information I have gathered thus far and will surely continue to gather in the future.

Welcome to the forum! And as far as your question, I don't really thing that they do. Just going by looking at a snake skeleton. They might have bone that are labeled the same as say our neck bones, I don't know, but no they really don't have separate necks.

Well you know I was kinda figuring that, but it was one of those moments on the way to the store and sh just blurted it out...... I laughed pretty hard but also said I really don't know andwould be quick t ask.

Hello and welcome! Does your son, or you, have a particular morph picked out yet?

I have to say I am rather fond of the candy cane, or neon morphs..... as for my son he's 8 so it changes from hour to hour but his interest has lasted for almost 6 months now and he's still going plenty strong. I waited so long so I could give him a goal to strive for, as well as make sure the fad would last long enough in his mind to really be something he was interested in.

Hello and welcome! :)

for me, I do say neck of the snake :) so, therefore, what I call 'the neck' starts just behind the head and goes about 2-3 inches.... depending on the size of the snake :)
