Hey, I just wanted to update anyone who cares at all that all of my animals WERE takin to a vet and were all in good shape and had fecals done on all of them. I moved all of the animals to a different room and have read up on quarentine. I am planning on getting a new corn and put it in quarentine at my parents work for about 3 months and 1 fecal test before bringing it home. There is only 1 dog that is ever there and shes only there durring the day. I have given away all my animals exept the ones that I know I can care for successfully without much errors. I am now only keeping:
1 argentine black and white tegu Jax after brenda at lizard kings big pac man
1 green pac man named lardo
2 baby leos bulls eye and stubby. Stubby had a stub tail so I got him 1/2 off!
1 african house snake red phase named diablo because he has a red belly

I also wanted to try and get some pics of adult albino corns. I may just get a corn from lizard king that has a 14 day guarentee and keep him in quarentee. I believe I have a good setup for quarentee. It is:
A shoe box
paper towel substrate
small ziplock container with no lid for water
a heatpad under 1 side. I just checked the temps and the warm side was 83 when I checked and the cool side was only 67. Does that sound ok?

I just want to appalogize for anything stupid I said or did in the past. I am very sorry to every one I may have pissed off.

Welcome back R_A, glad to hear you got things taken care of, and at least sound as though you are starting down a more responsible path. I really appreciate the fact that you took some of my words of advice and haven't posted for a while AND I have noticed that quite a few others haven't really baited you into arguments either.

It's hard work fixing a 'damaged' reputation, but if this post is any indication you may just be on the right track.

I hope your comment on quarantine for 3 months is how long you plan on keeping them there, and not how long you already kept them there (since you haven't been 'off' the boards for that long . . .). The part describing that could be taken either way!

I read the posts against you and from what you said it did seem like it was your mistakes that caused your snakes problems. I am not saying this as an insult or for an arguement so please dont take it that way. I just hope that this time you are truly prepared for the responsibilities required of you and aren't just getting the snake because it's what you want and noone can stop you. I, myself, have loved snakes for as long as I can remember, but I only recently got my first. It wasn't until then that I realised the needs of a snake and what I needed to do to care for that snake. Now I love them even more and I will do whatever is necessary for my snake to live a long and healthy life for it's benefit and my own. I hope you now realise this too and do what is necessary for you to care for your snake. I wish you luck and though you may have had past problems with members here, don't be discouraged in asking them for help when you need it. Don't let your pride hurt that snake. This is your chance to make up for any wrongdoings and do things right. This is a love we seem to all share and I'm sure we all hope you and your future snakes do much better than you did in the past.

Welcome back. It's good to hear that the vet check went well. 67 sounds a little low to me (although I'm sure someone will disagree) but as long as the snake could warm up (on your warm side) I think it would be fine. I try to keep my corns at a min of 70 but that's just me. On another note how big is the pac man? My boyfriend has two that are both pushing a pound and eating full grown mice. They actually ate f/t the other day which was nice too!

Well the pacman is only about 2-3 months old and about the size of the bottom of a burgerking glass. He is eating live and f/t fuzzy and hopper mice plus he eats earthworms and crickets. I am going to give him a rat pink soon

WB RA...

Good to see you decided to take everyone's advice...

We were all just trying to help you...
Hope you keep it together...

People really aren't out to get you here...if you play nice...they will too.

On a side note:
I have read somewhere that mice should only be fed to Pac-Man frogs on occasion...their fat content is too high...and will cause a nutritional imbalance causing obesity (not that you could tell in one of these little porkers, LOL)...and can substantially shorten their lifespan...
I'll see if I can find the source article...think it was in Reptile Magazine.

Welcome back R_A - it is never easy to apologise or admit mistakes in public.
We're all here to help each other out, and learn from each other.
Good to see you here again,

Not that I know much about these things, but how did you manage a 16 degree heat gradient in a shoe box?

The correct size and amout of holes plus my room teps are about 67 because I leave my window in my room open all year exept summer. I put about 8-15 holes on the cool side and put up a little divider to keep the warm side from getting air from the cool side. The divider is just a pice of cardboard that he can get around it just mounts to the lid. I put about 5 holes on the warm side then. I just wanted to let everybody know that there will be a show on sunday and I may get a corn then. I just bought another leo today and I got him in a 20 long in quarentine

Well from what I have read you can feed them as much as you want as long as they don't get wider than they are long. I put in 6 large crickets a week and feed him a pink whenever I feel like it. He loves to be handfed and only eats 4 pinks, or 2 fuzzies or 1 hopper a week.

i just looked at 3 caresheets on pac man frogs it says not to feed more than 3-4 pinks a month as its fatty for the frog........ remember to do your research. i've never owned one but i'd definatley look at least 1 caresheet before getting one.

It's good to have you back

Well I must say that I am sorry for taking this long to find this post. I would like to thank you for your apology; it is a huge step into maturity. I’m glad to have you back and it seems like you have already done most of your research before you have posted. I just wanted to say welcome back again and I am also sorry if I had caused any problems towards you when you had those few bad weeks. Welcome back

TO the new R_A
